We will issue a certificate the same day we receive your answers.
This can be duplicated to send in for your recertification.

With the exception of CA, FL, and TX, all states use NCCAOM certification for
acupuncture continuing education credit.

You need to complete 60 professional development activity points (PDA's)
every four years.

Professional Development Activity (PDA) is a Continuing Education Unit (CEU).
1 hour of Instruction = 1 PDA Point

The  NCCAOM allows for all of the required credits (PDA points) to be completed
online or as distance learning.

A total of 30 PDA points must be earned from Continuing Education
15 of which must be in any of the five branches of Oriental medicine (Acupuncture,
Chinese herbs, Chinese dietary therapy, Medical Qigong, Asian bodywork therapy)
and
4 of which must be in ethics or safety.
Courses in CPR, First Aid, or herbal safety,
medical errors, HIV/ Aids could satisfy the safety requirement.

NEW! Upcoming Changes to Recertification Requirements
New Requirement for 2010: CPR Certification is now a requirement for NCCAOM
recertification.  The CPR certification must have been issued within the four-year
recertification cycle and cannot be applied toward the safety requirement under
Competency Maintenance.

Beginning January 1, 2011 a new professional development
activity category “Practice Enhancement”will be added as another professional
development activity. This new category will have a maximum of 6
PDA points.

You may also earn PDA's from research, publications,  teaching, lecturing, clinical
experience or supervision.  This must be documented, so please see
http://www.nccaom.org/handbooks/2009_Recert_Handbook-FINAL.pdf
for specifics.
